Watching surfers out in the Atlantic, you soon realise that the sea makes the rules.
A wave can lift you, carry you along or throw you off course in an instant.
The surfer has to read the water, find their balance and work with whatever the sea decides to do.
I was drawn to the contrast between the small figure and the sheer expanse of water around him. There’s something exhilarating about seeing someone out there, immersed in the elements, with nothing between them and the power of the ocean.
It’s a reminder that out here, you have to go with the flow.
