Kicking Up The Leaves | 91 x 91cm
There’s something about walking through the woods in autumn.
I love that moment when the leaves have started to fall and the woodland floor becomes a carpet of gold, orange, red and bronze.
The silver birch catch the autumn light, the path winds ahead and, if you're anything like me, it's hard to resist kicking through the leaves as you walk.
There are always little things happening around you too.
A woodpecker tapping somewhere in the distance. A blackbird rummaging through the leaves. The breeze moving through the trees.
This painting came from one of those walks — the light, the colours and that simple pleasure of being outside on a crisp autumn day.
Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make you stop and look.
