Ah, That Salty Air
As the tide comes in, you know about it.
The air fills with that sharp, clean smell of the sea, waves arrive in bands of blue and white and the rocks disappear beneath bursts of spray.
Stand close enough and you feel it too — salt on your lips, dampness on your skin and the wind pushing in from the Atlantic.
There’s something about a Cornish coastline on a day like this. The sea is restless, the rocks are solid and everything is moving around you.
You can stand there for ages watching the waves arrive, break and disappear, only for the next one to follow.
And then you realise you've been standing there much longer than you intended.
